- I was appalled at the remark made by a California swimsuit
- maker: its line of slimming suits "was cut for the Midwestern
- frame." As a transplanted Midwesterner living in New York City,
- I find this to be yet another example of bicoastal snobbery
- directed at citizens living in places that are considered less
- chic and desirable. I have news for you: fat people live
- everywhere. They aren't just penned up in some corral in Kansas.
